MG 1/100 Gundam Amazing Exia Review (Quickie)

Price: 4800 YEN (outside of Japan will be quoted higher)

Been a while since I posted anything interesting here’s a quickie. A short while ago I manage to get this limited release Exia through my existing contacts. Wasn’t much pricier than getting the standard release MG 1/100 Gundam Exia Dark Matter so it was a no-brainer for me as I liked this variation more. Additionally, it comes with all the Dark Matter parts, just molded in the Amazing’s colors.

I don’t really have that much time to do so many shots nowadays plus my “work area” is crowded with many things currently. I so need to rearrange the area to do photoshoots once more. At any rate, the basic articulation is the same as the original released MG 1/100 Gundam Exia. Its flexible yes, but play too much, it will wear out fast. Putting on the backpack (TA Booster) will cause a slight balance issue so having a stand ready is a good idea, unless you pose it with the swords/wings as a second set of legs at the back for balance. Having everything on can be a hazard to pose so I prefer to play without the TA Booster attached. There are too many points and parts touching each other, it can be a pain to pose. Its still posable enough with everything on, you just need patience and a clear enough area to place it on. With its backpack on, Amazing takes a decent amount of space.

Other than the parts to make Amazing, you have enough to make Dark Matter out of it. Not enough to make them separately of course. You can partially build Repair II but the shoulder armor thrusters are missing. You can barely make the original Exia as the cables are not present.

It also comes with a large set of decals which you can put on. At the time of taking the photos above, the decals were not placed on yet. I may update this post with more details and photos in the future, if possible.

Overall, its a good kit. If you have a chance to pick it up for a decent price and you’re fan of the extensive Exia lineage, this is a good add-on to your collection. I’m a huge Exia fan so me getting this is a certainty from the moment I knew I can get it.

That’s all for now folks!
