Robot Damashii Crossbone Gundam X-3 Review

27/07/2010

Price: 3000 Yen
This post is being longer than I had initially anticipated but I guess that’s what happen when it has a load of play in it. XP

—START RAMBLINGS—

Actually, I’ve been re-playing Mega Man Star Force 3 (Red Joker) once again, at least in English this time. Quite a while ago near the first released date, I played in Japanese. Ah, good old times. Been playing in Japanese ever since Rockman.EXE Red Sun & Blue Moon 4. My favorite line of Rockman/Mega Man games (virtually played them twice since I played both Japanese and English). I’ll be re-playing the 2nd game next since I never finished it in English and probably try to finish that Operation Shooting Star too.

I kinda feel sad that the Star Force series seem to have ended with how the story and game-play of the 3rd game went. You can really feel the staff went all out and it ended with a good end (play it yourself or watch Youtube for better details). I also went all out when I reached the endgame for the main story plot. ^^;

—END RAMBLINGS—

Okay, enough with that unrelated jabber, lets continue on with the review in hand.

MS Specs
XM-X3 (F97) – Crossbone Gundam X-3
Pilot: Tobia Arronax
Further details at MAHQ.

EDIT: GunStray just reminded me of another thing that the RD X3 doesn’t have – the Scissor Anchor (grappling front skirt).

    Dang it… That was UBER poison~! Uhh… Your review just made Zabine (my Gundam Fix Crossbone X2) feels… more inferior.
    (I could almost heard Tobia’s voice in the omake section.)

    Zabine: At least I have the cloak AND the core fighter. Mwahahaha~!

    p.s. I still called the X-series trademark weapon as the beam Zanber (Zan = slash in Japanese; ber = saBER). :)

      And the stream of poison continues~ >D
      Considering that the GFF X2 was released quite some time ago (2003), it was bound to happen. At least it has more story accurate gimmicks.

      Hehe, looks like the omake went well then. ^^

    Woah, so RD also have good articulated models. Just that I felt plastic felt more better. XD Nice reviews!

    • 27/07/2010 10:57 pm

      They don’t use plastic completely, some parts are made from soft plastic (hard-rubber-like).

      Thanks! ^^

    Decade and Accel reference? lol

    great one~ RD hrmmm….maybe next time XD

    for some not so particular reasons, i found that the “3” on the forehead is……ridiculous IMHO

    • 27/07/2010 11:02 pm

      The X3 has a bit more of a “cartoony” design for it for some odd reason. Dunno why they designed it like that but I don’t really mind personally. ^^;

      Well, considering how you do stuff, I can’t see you getting a RD very soon.

  5. 27/07/2010 10:18 pm

    Graham, why?…. XD

    • 27/07/2010 11:04 pm

      He really wants to be eye-to-eye with the Gundam… or it could just be his ego. XD

    One of the few, Very Heavily armed MS for closecombat, it almost puts exia’s and 00 7s to shame.

    So they didnt include the front skirt grapling hooks?

    • 28/07/2010 10:51 am

      Oops, forgot to mention that. Yeah, there is no grappling front skirts for the RD unfortunately. ^^;

    Wah very nice and detailed review man…having own an RD bonta kun I must say RDs are actually very good for their price plus…the play factor is a really big plus!!!

    Argh….all those swords and gonna make exia envious!

    • 28/07/2010 11:08 am

      Hm, I can hear the envy already… XP

      Setsuna: GUNDAM!!!
      Exia: No, don’t go to the bigger sword! D=

    Oho…. Megaman star force. Pretty good series, I have played all 3 star force, also the battle network series from GBA. Pretty sad there’s no more releasing… Or is there?

    • 29/07/2010 12:42 am

      It is still possible though it can be hard from the story stand point. They need some good story writers if they want to make the next one work. I mean, everyone’s happy already. >_>;
      Considering how I like the game-play, I would love to see another one, as long as they don’t make it like MMBN4. ^^;

    with the biggest beam saber in UC history and the broken double I-field projector, this Gundam definitely ranks amongst the strongest of Gundams.

    nice review :D

    also lol on the “Despair is your goal” part.
